One of Nigeria’s talented actresses Rachael Oniga has said
she will resume acting when the political campaigns and general
elections are over.
According to reports, the
popular Nollywood actress, who is currently the face of Jimi Agbaje’s
campaign, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate
said, though she is not running for any elective office, she would not
reject a political appointment or offers.
She said: It isn’t
new, I’ve been into politics for some time now. For now, it’s politics.
After that, I’ll go back to my job full time. That is not to say I
haven’t been working. I’ve been going in and out of locations too.
“If a political appointment comes, fine. But that’s not the
reason why I’m into it. I have my name to protect and I feel that this
is the time for me to come out and do something. I do a lot on set and
if I can come out and do the real thing, there’s nothing wrong with
that.”
The Delta state-born actress began her acting
career in 1993. Over the years, she has featured in notable Nigerian
films such as Sango, Onome and a host of others.
